Beacon/Eye on Water Fee Pass Through

Dear Valued Washington Water Authority Customer,

In 2019 Washington Water Authority purchased cellular "smart" water meters that not only allow us to read your water meter from the office, but it also allows you, the customer to sign up to receive alerts if you have a water leak. With this service, you can be notified of a leak much quicker and more efficiently than in the past.

Washington Water Authority has been paying for this service for each customer with a cell meter since the meters were installed. A recent decision was made by the Board of Directors to pass this charge on to customers with cell meters. Beginning with your August 27, 2025 bill and going forward, you will see this $.90 (ninety cent) charge.

While many of our customers are already using Eye on Water, many with access are not. If you have cell service at your house, you most likely have a cell meter. Only customers with a cell meter and have the ability to access this service will be charged the fee.
